Artist Barry Windsor-Smith is probably best known for his Conan the Barbarian run and his contributions to the X-Men franchise, including classic tales like Weapon X and Lifedeath. But Windsor-Smith has had a long, prolific career at Marvel beyond those two franchises, and that work is being celebrated in a new Fantagraphics hardcover collection called Marvel Creator Collection No. 1: Back to the Savage Land.

With Marvel Creator Collection No. 1: Back to the Savage Land in stores now, IGN can exclusively debut a new preview of the book. Check out the slideshow gallery below to see a classic Iron Man comic featured in the book:

This book is part of a larger, three-volume set called The Marvel Creator Collection: Barry Windsor-Smith at Marvel, which will reprint all of Windsor-Smith's non-Conan Marvel work. The first volume focuses on the artist's earliest Marvel stories from titles like Astonishing Tales, The Avengers, Iron Man, Doctor Strange, Chamber of Darkness, Tower of Shadows, and Nick Fury, Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D.

“I have literally been following Barry Windsor-Smith’s career since 1969 when he debuted at Marvel Comics and immediately became my 2nd favorite artist (after Jack Kirby),” said Fantagraphics Publisher and Co-Founder Gary Groth in a statement. “So, it is a distinct pleasure to have the privilege of finally presenting all the work he did for Marvel (with the exception of Conan) in a gorgeously produced 3-volume hardcover series.”

Marvel Creator Collection No. 1: Back to the Savage Land is priced at $49.99. You can order the book on Amazon.
