The original The Golem of Venice Beach stood out not just because of its compelling horror premise, but because it featured some of the biggest artists in the comic book industry working together. Now Clover Press is back for the second and final installment in the series, and they've got plenty more creative muscle to bring to bear.

IGN can exclusively debut the cover art to The Golem of Venice Beach: Book 2, along with several pages painted by the inimitable David Mack. Check them out in the slideshow gallery below:

The Golem of Venice Beach: Book 2 picks up immediately after the cliffhanger ending to Book 1 and continues the story of the 400-year-old golem known as Adam. The book is again written by Chanan Beizer and largely illustrated by Vanessa Cardenali. This time, Cardenali is joined by another murderer's row of guest artists, including Mack, Jae Lee, June Chung, Das Pastoras, Dean Haspiel, Juan José Ryp, Nick Dragotta, Howard Chaykin, Stan Sakai, and cover artist Frank Quitely.

“Picking up immediately after Book 1’s cliffhanger, in The Golem of Venice Beach: Book 2 we find Adam the Golem in the midst of gang warfare while trying to protect two runaway teens,” said Beizer in a statement. “To make matters worse, Jake comes under the scrutiny of the very same gang while Uncle Steph tries to mend a rift that has formed between Adam and Jake, and things come to a head when Stephan is kidnapped. It’s up to Adam and Jake to save him—but first, Jake must first find a way to make Adam whole again and restore the Golem that has been part of his family legacy for over 400 years.”

The Golem of Venice Beach: Book 2 will be crowdfunded through Kickstarter. The Kickstarter campaign will feature optional extras like an exclusive hardcover edition with a signature plate by Quitely, 8" x 10" art prints from each of the artists involved, and prints from the artists featured in the first volume.

In other comic book news, Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver - The Dead Shall Rise just got an official trailer, and we explore why Steve Ditko might not have wanted to be crowned a Disney Legend.
