It's the last day of the longest Prime Day ever and some of the best deals are already gone. If you haven't had the chance to do any shopping yet, you haven't missed your chance entirely. Luckily there are still plenty of great discounts around to hop on before the sale ends.
This year has been a pretty tumultuous year for the prices of things, so the deals we've seen during this week have been a welcome change of pace. It's unclear if Black Friday will be better than Prime Day this year due to the rising cost of goods, which means right now is potentially the best time of the year to make some major purchases.
To help direct you to what deals are actually worth your time, I've gathered up a list of all of the things worth buying before the sale ends. Prime Day deals at Amazon will end at midnight PST tonight, so you still a little bit of time left to save before the prices go back up.
What Should You Buy on Prime Day?
Before I get into the deals themselves, it's worth noting how I went about deciding which categories to feature here. The IGN Deals team has been covering the sale live all week and I've been utilizing a price-tracking tool to sort the lowest prices from the fake discounts. Everything here is either at its lowest price ever, lowest price for 2025, or included in some sort of Prime Day promotion.
1. Apple products
Prime Day is always one of the best times of the year to buy Apple devices. In 2025, we're seeing some of the lowest prices all year on things like AirPods and the latest iPad models. Even the Apple Watch Series 10 is on sale at its lowest price ever right now. If you've been looking to pick up some iOS devices for less than full price, right now is the time to do so. The only discounts we haven't seen this year are on iPhones and MacBooks, which will likely be discounted for Black Friday instead.
2. Kindle e-readers
Last year, Amazon was fairly stingy with its Kindle deals, but 2025 has been a completely different story. The entire Kindle lineup has dropped to new low prices this year, making it the time to buy one of these devices. The most notable discounts are on the Paperwhite, which is my favorite model, as well as the new Kindle Colorsoft. If you are someone who does a lot of reading, I definitely recommend picking up one of these discounts before the sale ends. If you're a more casual reader, you may consider grabbing one of the iPad discounts instead.
3. 4K Blu-rays
One of the biggest hits of Prime Day the last couple years has been the 4K movie deals. This is thanks to some really good discounts on box sets, but mostly it's because Amazon is having a buy 2, get 1 free sale right now. The promotion includes a ton of popular newer films like Warfare and Alien: Romulus, but it also features some classic sci-fi movies and other fan favorites. If you're currently building a physical media collection, this is absolutely a sale worth checking out.
4. LEGO sets
I've been covering Prime Day sales for years and have watched it become one of the absolute best times to buy LEGO sets. This year continues that trend with some of the lowest prices we've seen on some popular sets. The best discounts we've gathered so far have been on LEGO Star Wars sets as well as a few Disney LEGO options, but there are a lot more beyond that. The LEGO store has its own sale going on too with exclusive discounts that you won't find on Amazon. These deals make it a great time to pick up your next build for cheap or stock up on gifts for later in the year.
5. Physical video games
The best time to buy digital video games pretty much ended with the Steam Summer Sale yesterday, but if you're in the market for physical copies of games, plenty of those deals are still here. Amazon has been slashing prices on PS5 games, Switch games, and even some Xbox games for Prime Day. While the prices aren't amazing on newer titles, they are still some of the lowest prices we've seen all year. With the cost of video games on the rise, this is easily one of the best times of the year to buy.
6. Books and comics
Amazon had a big book sale back in April, but those deals weren't nearly as good as what we've been seeing for Prime Day. Similar to the 4K movie sale, Amazon is running a buy 2, get 1 free promotion on books that is absolutely worth diving into. In addition to those discounts, there are also price cuts on popular collector's items like the Lord of the Rings Illustrated Editions and the Legend of Zelda books. The buy 2, get 1 free sale also includes loads of popular comics that you'll definitely want to check out as well.
7. Gaming chairs
A gaming chair is one of those expensive purchases that nobody really wants to make but is game-changing once you do, and this is a category that is only going to get more expensive as the year rolls on. Most of the major gaming acessory brands that make these chairs manufacture their goods in China and will likely be heavily affected by tariffs starting in August. So if you're looking to buy one, now is probably the best time to do so before costs go up. I'd recommend looking at the Secretlab sale going on right now, which features some better discounts than Amazon on IGN's overall favorite gaming chair.
8. 4K TVs
There are a lot of good times to buy a TV throughout the year, but Prime Day has persistently been one of the best. This year hasn been tough for tech deals in a lot of areas, but TVs are a category that is still seeing some massive price drops. If you're in the market for a higher-end TV, there are currently some really good discounts. I'd recommend checking out the LG C4 deal that just dropped yesterday or any of the Samsung 4K TV deals that are still in stock today.
9. Gaming monitors
Similar to TVs, some of the higher-end gaming monitors are finally getting some steep discounts. These are some of the best deals we've seen all year so far and you should definitely consider browsing these before the sale ends. Prime Day is arguably the best time to buy a new gaming monitor, even if it does seem like a really expensive purchase. If you're looking for the best deals on budget monitors, however, it's probably still worth waiting for Black Friday.
10. Jigsaw puzzles
This last recommendation is one that I'm personally biased about. Of all of the discounts going on during the Amazon sale, the Prime Day puzzle deals are the most interesting to me. There aren't that many times throughout the year when you can sort through a massive list of jigsaw puzzles at ridiculously low prices, but it's happening right now. Some of the best puzzle brands are currently featured in this sale, including Ravensburger and theory11 puzzles.
Should You Just Wait for Black Friday Instead?
The Prime Day deals are actually quite good this year, but if you're looking to skip the Amazon sale altogether and just wait for Black Friday, I'd honestly advise against it. While Black Friday has historically been better than Prime Day in terms of overall discounts, 2025 is likely going to be an outlier. Higher tariffs are currently on track to resume in August and this could result in higher prices for consumers later in the year. While it's certainly possible that those tariffs could be paused again or removed, it's more likely that prices will continue to rise in the U.S. regardless of what happens. So if you have something you want to buy right now and it's reasonably discounted, you should probably buy it now.
