Hisense recently released the updated 2023 model of its best selling U6 TV. The 65" Hisense U6K 4K Mini-LED QLED ULED Google TV retails for $799.99, which is a good price for the premium features you get with this TV. However today, Best Buy has it for only $649.99, a $150 discount. This is undoubtedly the least expensive 65" Mini-LED TV you can buy right now from any brand, whether it be a new 2023 or older generation model.

New 2023 65" Hisense U6K 4K Mini LED TV for $649.99

The U6 is Hisense's best selling model, mainly because it offers great image quality at a very low price point. It is a significant upgrade over the 2022 U6H thanks to the inclusion of a Mini-LED panel, which was previously only available on the U8 series. In addition to the full-array Mini-LED backlight with local dimming, the TV features quantum dot technology (QLED), wide color gamut (ULED), and Dolby Vision IQ.

The QLED panel enables this TV to retain strong color accuracy and good dynamic range even at peak brightness levels. The local dimming feature allows different zones to dim or brighten independent of each other, thus allowing the TV to deftly handle scenes where the brightest whites and the darkest blacks occur simultaneously. Mini LED panels allow for even more precise dimming because the controller zones are smaller and more numerous.

Although the U6K makes for a solid gaming TV, its panel is limited to 60Hz refresh rate at 4K. What that means is that it will output 4K @ 60Hz through the PS5 or Xbox Series X console. If you really want the 4K @ 120Hz passthrough, you'll need to upgrade to the considerably more expensive (and currently harder to find) U7K TV, which has all the features of the U6K plus a 120Hz native panel. The U6K does have other welcome gaming centric features like variable refresh rate and auto low latency mode.

The 2023 Hisense U6K adopts Google TV for its smart TV experience. Google TV is a definitely upgrade to the aging Android TV interface and works just as well as Fire TV or Apple TV, even more so if you use an Android phone or tablet. A voice remote is included and has a super handy "Find My Remote" feature.
