When it comes down to price, TVs are often one of your biggest investments for your home. Since most people only upgrade their TVs every four years or longer, it's important to purchase a TV that has the size, features, and image quality to keep you satisfied for many years to come. Fortunately, if you can look past the initial sticker shock of some TV models, you'll notice that there are a fair number of great deals on even the biggest and best TVs out there. Although TV deals are somewhat seasonal, there's always a good deal to be found if you know where to look.

Woot is offering the 2022 LG Evo C2 65" OLED TV (brand new with full 1-year LG warranty) for only $1394.99. That's just a little bit more than the best price we've ever seen (which was $1375 a few months ago). It's $300 cheaper than everyone else right now and $200 cheaper than the best deal we saw during Black Friday.
65" Sony A80K OLED TV
Refurb with 10 months of warranty
Walmart (via Beach Camera) currently has the 2022 65" Sony A80K 4K OLED TV for only $1099. This is a factory recondition TV that has been refurbished directly by Sony. What that means is that it comes with a 6-month Sony warranty. In addition, you get a 4-month 3rd party (CPS) warranty on top of that for a total of 10 months. Considering the fact that this bundle costs $1850 new, this is a pretty great deal. Beach Camera is a legit company and is an authorized Sony reseller.
55" Sony A90J OLED TV
The Sony Bravia A90J is a 2021 TV that was part of Sony's highest end "Master Series" OLED lineup. There's actually no 2022 replacement, since the 2022 A90K model is only offered in 42" and 48" screen sizes. This TV boasts even better image quality compared to the very popular LG C2 (although the difference is minimal). Since it's an OLED TV, it offers incredibly deep black levels and an "infinite" contrast ratio that makes it perfect for HDR viewing. For gaming, two of the HDMI ports are 2.1 spec and support 4K @ 120Hz passthrough, in addition to VRR and ALLM.
85" Samsung Q80B QLED TV
The Samsung Q80B is Samsung's highest end TV of 2022 before you get into the much pricier Mini-LED lineup. This is a huge TV that's packed with features to boost image quality. The quantum dot (QLED) panel with wide color gamut and full-array LED backlighting with local area dimming produces rich colors with good black levels and high contrast ratio. It has a native 120Hz panel and all of its ports are HDMI 2.1, which means they support 4K @ 120Hz passthrough on PS5 and Xbox Series X consoles, as well as VRR and ALLM.
65" Hisense U8H Mini LED TV
The U8H was Hisense's highest end LED LCD TV for 2022. The biggest upgrade from the 2021 U8G model is the Mini-LED panel, which allows for better control of black levels and thus a higher contrast ratio. The UH8 also features quantum dot technology (QLED), which offers higher brightness levels (up to 1,500 nits) and better color reproduction. The UH8 is a ULED TV, meaning it's equipped with full-array LED backlighting with local dimming and supports wide color gamut. The U8H has gamers covered. It has a native 120Hz panel and two HDMI 2.1 inputs. That means it can pass true 4K @ 120Hz on PS5 and Xbox Series X consoles and RTX 30 series equipped gaming PCs. The U8H also supports VRR and ALLM.
More Hisense TV Deals
Hisense leads the pack in TV sales in the Chinese market and fortunately their high volume translates to low prices here in the States. The models to look at are the U6, U7, and U8 TVs. The U6 is the least expensive of the lineup but it still has good image quality thanks to the quantum dot (QLED) panel with wide color gamut (ULED). The U7 is the cheapest TV we'd recommend for current gen console gamers because it has HDMI 2.1 ports that support 4K @ 120Hz gaming. The U8 is Hisense's flagship model with Mini-LED technology for even better looking images in HDR.
More Samsung TV Deals
Samsung is the largest TV manufacturer in the world. Samsung TVs are generally higher priced than any of the other brands out there, but in return you also get some of the best technology. In 2022 Samsung launched the quantum dot OLED panel (QD OLED) panel which is technically superior to standard OLED. QD OLED is only available on Samsung TVs as well as the highest end Sony A95 OLED TV. Samsung also makes the most affordable 8K TV. There's hardly any 8K content available, but these TVs do make exceptional PC monitors because of their razer sharp clarity.
More TCL TV Deals
TCL is another high volume TV maker and generally offer the lowest pricing among any of the big TV brands. The models to look at here are the 4-, 5-, and 6-series TVs. The 4-series TVs are basic 4K smart TVs stripped of any unnecessary features (for most people) at incredibly low prices. The 5-series TVs noticeably improves HDR image quality with the addition of a quantum dot (QLED) panel with local dimming and wide color gamut. The 6-series TV is the one we'd recommend for gamers, since it has a Mini-LED panel (starting in 2022) and HDMI 2.1 ports for 4K @ 120Hz gaming.
Note that starting in 2023, TCL is revamping its TV lineup. The 4-series will become the Q6, the 5 series will be the Q7, and the 6 series will be the QM8. These new 2023 TVs have not been released at the moment.

LG is considered one of the "big three" in terms of TV brands you can trust. They are the second largest TV manufacturer in the world. The LG OLED TVs are the holy grail for anyone who's looking for absolute incredible image quality at an attractive price. They are as good as or better than the best OLED TVs from other brands, but usually at a significantly cheaper price. Of course, LG also carries LED LCD TVs as well. The QNED lineup features a Mini-LED panel, and the NANO lineup features a technology very similar to quantum dot QLED panels.

Sony, another member of the "big three", carries a healthy lineup of TVs that are catered towards the current-gen gamer. That's not a surprise, since Sony also makes the PlayStation 5 console. Sony's OLED TV prices are dropping steadily and it's not uncommon to see them challenging LG OLED TVs these days in pricing. The A80, A85, A90 and A95 are Sony's OLED models and these are all great TVs for current-gen gamers. What TV Features to Look Out For
There are a lot of terms with fancy names that might confuse the first time TV buyer. What's worse, just because a particular feature costs more money doesn't mean that you'll benefit from it at all. Depending on your needs, you can ignore some of the features offered in the more premium sets and save your money.
Which makes a good gaming TV?
If you own a current-gen PS5 or Xbox Series X console, then you'll want a TV that has HDMI 2.1 ports and a native 120Hz refresh rate. That's because these consoles can play supported games at 4K resolution at up to 120fps. However, that's only possible if the TV can handle that resolution and refresh rate. Not all TVs support this feature and the ones that do usually command a premium price. If you don't plan to game on a current-gen console, then this feature will probably wasted on you. There's very little 4K @ 120Hz media content available outside of video games. Some other features that a gamer appreciate are variable refresh rate (VRR), which is the TV's version of adaptive sync technology, and auto low latency mode (ALLM), where the TV switches to a lower latency when it detects gameplay.
Which makes a good HDR TV?
HDR, or high dynamic range, is the range your TV can display from the whitest white to the absolute blackest black within a single frame. In order to have a very good HDR, you need two basic qualities: the ability to show as true of a black as possible, and a high enough brightness to produce a punchy white. Several TV features help in this regard. The panel itself, for example, is important. An OLED panel has pixels that can individually switch on or off, thus offering a true black image. A full-array LED-backlit panel simulates this by having "zones" of LEDs that can be independently dimmed, thus allowing the TV to deftly handle scenes where bright sunlight and dark shadows coexist. Mini LED panels allow for even more precising local dimming because the controller zones are smaller and more numerous. QLED displays have an additional quantum dot layer that enhances color accuracy and increases brightness, thus also improving HDR quality. A TV with "wide color gamut" can display a wider range of colors, again improving HDR quality.
