Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will be even more ambitious than its gorgeously-animated predecessor, as Empire has revealed the movie is taking on six major art styles.
“The first film had one animation style that dominates the movie. This movie has six,” producer Phil Lord said. “So we’re taking those tools, adding all the things we learned on The Mitchells Vs The Machines, and then growing them further to accommodate the ambition of this movie. Which is to wow you every time you enter a new environment, and also to make sure that the style of the movie reflect[s] the story, and that the images are driven by feelings, as opposed to some egg-headed art project. Which it also is, by the way!”

The movie's producers described three of the six art styles viewers can expect to see. The first is from Earth-50101, and it's called "Mumbattan", with a style based on an Indian comic book look.
The next is from Spider-Man 2099's Nueva York, based on a Syd Mead-style idea of what the future could look like. Syd Mead is known for working on sci-fi projects like Blade Runner and Aliens. The last type we know of right now is a water color style on Gwen's Earth-65.
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is coming to theaters on June 2, 2023. The third Spider-Verse film — titled Beyond the Spider-Verse — is coming in 2024. Across the Spider-Verse looks dwarf the original in scope, with 240 characters, six universes, and the largest crew for an animated film.
Shameik Moore will star as Miles Morales, along with Hailee Steinfeld, Oscar Isaac, and Issa Rae. We also know that the movie's villain is inspired by the Portal gun, and that Daniel Kaluuya will voice Spider-Punk.
