The cast of Marvel's Ironheart is continuing to grow, with more actors suiting up to star in the Disney+ MCU series alongside Dominique Thorne's titular hero, aka Riri Williams.
You might have heard about Riri when she first made waves in the Marvel universe in 2016 in the pages of The Invincible Iron Man. She counted Tony Stark as a mentor, teamed up with Spider-Man Miles Morales and Ms. Marvel, and even faced Thanos. And now she will be making her MCU debut in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever before jumping into her own solo series.
Thorne is said to have shot her scenes for the Black Panther sequel before reuniting with director Ryan Coogler on the Ironheart series. Coogler is serving as an executive producer alongside Ironheart head writer Chinaka Hodge, Zinzi Coogler, and Sev Ohanian, joining Marvel Studios' Kevin Feige, Louis D'Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Brad Winderbaum, and Zoie Nagelhout.

Dominique Thorne as Riri Williams
Ironheart will see Dominique Thorne as Riri Williams/Ironheart, "a genius inventor and creator of the most advanced suit of armor since Iron Man." In the comics, Williams is an engineering prodigy that uses Stark's digitized consciousness as an AI to teach her to be the best Ironheart she can be. She can fly and shoot out repulsor grenades, laser beams, precision missiles, and much more with the suit.
Thorne made her feature film debut in 2018, playing Sheila Hunt in Barry Jenkins' award-winning If Beale Street Could Talk. Her next film role came in 2021 when she starred in Judas and the Black Messiah.
Anthony Ramos as Parker Robbins
In the Heights star Anthony Ramos is also joining the MCU, having accepted a "key role" in Marvel's Ironheart series. While his character was initially kept under wraps, Deadline reported that Ramos was expected to "not only have a big role in this series but in future Marvel projects as well." It has since been revealed that Ramos will be portraying Parker Robbins in the upcoming Disney+ series.
Ironheart executive producer Ryan Coogler offered fans an early look at the new series at D23 2022. The footage confirmed that Ramos would be playing Robbins, as one scene showed the character being arrested. Fans of the comics will know Parker better as the supervillain The Hood, a character who uses magic and the dark arts, but may not be a straight-up villain (at least to begin with) in the show.
Before Ironheart, Ramos famously starred in the Broadway musical Hamilton. He then appeared in film versions of In the Heights and A Star Is Born. He's since wrapped on Transformers: Rise of the Beasts.
Lyric Ross
The Hollywood Reporter shared news of Lyric Ross' involvement with Marvel's Ironheart series in February 2022. According to the announcement, This Is Us standout Ross will play the best friend of the show's main character Riri Williams, portrayed by Thorne. It's unclear whether Ross will be playing Natalie Washington, artificial intelligence N.A.T.A.L.I.E., or an entirely different character from those in the comics.
In addition to This Is Us, Ross' previous TV credits include the likes of Sirens and Chicago Fire. She's also starred in a few feature films, including coming-of-age movie The Class.
Harper Anthony
Newcomer Harper Anthony joined the cast of Ironheart in an undisclosed role in April 2022 before filming got underway in the summer, per The Wrap. The 9-year-old comes to the Disney+ series off the back of a recurring role in the independent series Vulture City and a co-starring role on NBC's Chicago Med. The youngster can also be seen in the film City of Vultures, currently available on several streaming platforms.
Manny Montana
As the cameras started rolling on the series, Deadline reported that the Ironheart team had set Manny Montana as a series regular to star alongside Dominique Thorne. Details about his character were kept under wraps at the time of the announcement and have remained under the radar. Montana was last seen in HBO's sci-fi hit Westworld, playing Carver, an associate of Caleb's who helps protect his family.
Before that, Montana featured on the main cast of NBC's Good Girls, playing Rio for four seasons prior to the show's cancellation. He also recently starred in a recurring role in FX's Mayans M.C.
Alden Ehrenreich
It was reported in July 2022 that Solo star Aldren Ehrenreich had landed a key role in Marvel's upcoming Ironheart series, though it's currently unknown which character he will be playing. Ehrenreich will next be seen in the Elizabeth Banks-directed thriller Cocaine Bear, which will hit theaters in February 2023. He also recently wrapped production on Christopher Nolan's Oppenheimer for Universal Pictures.
Ehrenreich's past credits include 2018's Solo: A Star Wars Story, in which he played a young Han Solo, as well as the Coen brothers' comedy Hail, Caesar! and Peacock's Brave New World adaptation.
Shea Couleé
Less than a month later, RuPaul's Drag Race winner Shea Couleé became the latest addition to Ironheart's growing roster of onscreen talent. Deadline reported that Couleé — real name, Jaren Kyei Merrell — had landed a "secret" role in the upcoming Disney+ series. Some fans have since speculated that Couleé could be playing Darkveil, Marvel's first drag queen superhero, formerly known as Shade.
Couleé achieved international fame after competing on the ninth season of RuPaul's Drag Race. Couleé then returned as a contestant on the fifth and seventh seasons of the "All Stars" spinoff.
Zoe Terakes
Marvel then announced that Australian star Zoe Terakes had become the latest addition to the Ironheart cast. Deadline revealed that Terakes had been tapped for a key role in the upcoming MCU series, though details of that role were kept private. Terakes, who is transgender, became the second non-binary star to join the Disney+ series after the casting of Shea Couleé earlier the same month.
Terakes most recently starred as Glory in the Hulu series Nine Perfect Strangers. They also had a notable role in the eighth season of Wentworth, playing transgender inmate Reb Keane.
Regan Aliyah
Marvel continued to fill out its Ironheart cast towards the end of August 2022 when it was announced by Deadline that Regan Aliyah had joined the Disney+ series. Further details about her role on Ironheart are being kept under wraps, but the actress is expected to next be seen in Netflix's upcoming romantic dramedy series XO, Kitty, which is a spinoff of To All The Boys I Loved Before.
Shakira Barrera
Shakira Barrera was the next name to be thrown in the mix, as Deadline revealed that the GLOW alum had been tapped for a series regular role in Ironheart. The report didn't mention which character Barrera would be playing in the MCU series, but there are a number of possibilities for her role. More is expected to be shared as the series moves through its various production stages.
Barrera currently stars in Sprung, a Freevee original comedy series from My Name Is Earl creator Greg Garcia. She also made a brief appearance as Agent King in the final season of Agents of SHIELD.
