OLED TVs are still considered to be the best TVs on the market. Of the few OLED TV brands that are available, LG and Sony are the two that are most highly recommended. Both brands have OLED lineups with several generations of updates, boast impeccable image quality, and sport gaming-centric features for gamers with current generation consoles like the PS5 or Xbox Series X. These top flight TVs used to command a premium price that matched their reputation, but no longer.
65" Sony A80J 4K OLED TV for $1399.99
Supports 4K @ 120Hz for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X gamers
Sony's 65" OLED TV has dropped down to $1399 on Amazon for a limited time (it's currently $2500 at Best Buy). That's easily the lowest price you'll find for any 65" OLED TV; it's currently $200 less than LG's 65" C1 model and $500 less than LG's 65" C2. That's pretty impressive considering the fact that Sony OLED TVs are usually more expensive than LG counterparts.
The Sony A80J is a true OLED 4K TV. It boasts unrivalled response times, so ghosting is non-existent. Compared to traditional LED LCD TVs, OLED TVs offer better image quality, deeper blacks, better contrast ratio, and wider color gamut. Not only does this translate to better gaming, but also better image quality overall, including with 4K HDR content. It also has HDMI 2.1 inputs that support 120Hz refresh rates at 4K resolution. If you own a PS5, Xbox Series X, or a gaming PC with an RTX 30 series video card, you'll have access to games that can run at 4K @ 120Hz, with more supported games coming in the near future. The Sony A80J now supports variable refresh rate (VRR) thanks to a firmware update that was released earlier this year. It also supports auto low latency mode (ALLM), which basically means the TV can detect when you're playing a game and automatically reduce the latency.
The Sony A80J uses Google TV for its smart TV experience. Google TV is a more intuitive version of Android TV, and works just as well as Fire TV or Apple TV, even more so if you use an Android phone or tablet.
