Gamescom 2022 has officially begun and will be one of the biggest weeks in gaming. The show is in-person for the first time since 2019, with 500+ companies attending the event. Like last year, Gamescom will be filled with reveals, demos, news, interviews, and so much more. It's a lot to take in, so IGN will be there to bring you all the latest and greatest moments as they happen.
We'll provide everything you need to know around Gamescom and IGN’s biggest events within, including when each event starts, a list of places you can stream them live with us, and what you can expect to see at Gamescom 2022.

When is Gamescom 2022?
Gamescom 2022 is happening now, running from August 23 through August 28. It's happening in-person at Koelnmesse in Cologne, Germany, and has online elements you can stream.

What to Expect at Gamescom 2022
Geoff Keighley’s Opening Night Live will once again kick-off Gamescom 2022. It will be a roughly two-hour live show featuring “game announcements, world premieres, and more on a huge stage!” There's a lot to look forward to following Opening Night Live, including Gamescom Studio coverage from IGN, Awesome Indies, Gamescom Award Show and a Cosplay Contest to wrap up the event!
Which Publishers Are Attending?
It has been confirmed that over 500 companies have registered for Gamescom 2022, and the list includes such studios as 2K, 505 Games, AMD, Bandai Namco, HoYoverse, Humble Games, HyperX, Koch Media, Raw Fury, SEGA Europe, Team17, THQ Nordic, Thunderful, Ubisoft, Xbox, and more. From Microsoft, Xbox will offer 'updates on some announced games' at Gamescom this year.

Which Publishers Are Not Attending?
Sony confirmed there won't be PlayStation-based announcements at GamesCom. However, they did surprise everyone by revealing the DualSense Edge Controller at Gamescom Opening Night Live:
